We are thrilled to share that our very own Dispatcher, Lauren Meuer, had the honor of introducing the Vice President of the United States and greeting the Governor of Maryland during a special event. This incredible opportunity was made possible in part by Lauren’s participation in the Maryland Corps/Service Year Option, a program that fosters professional growth and community service throughout the state.

About the Maryland Corps/Service Year Option
We’re proud to partner with the Maryland Corps/Service Year Option. This statewide program provides participants with:
- A living wage of at least $15 per hour
- Job training, mentorship, and professional development
- Career coaching and ongoing support to explore future pathways
- A $6,000 stipend upon successful completion, which can go toward tuition costs or be taken as a taxable cash stipend
Participants serve full-time (40 hours a week) in roles that span education, public safety, public health, environmental initiatives, and more. The program’s 2024-2025 term begins on September 11, 2024, concluding the following summer.
